Memory of Bohuslav Martinů

With a two-year forced postponement, we will present a memorial concert to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the birth (which fell in 2020) of one of our most important composers, Bohuslav Martinů. The concert will feature a selection of his compositions, dedicated to the choir.

The concert will take place in the Liechtenstein Palace in Malá Strana, in the hall that bears the composer’s name.

Otvírání studánek, H 354 (1955) – (Opening of wells) chamber cantata for soloists, reciter, female choir and instrumental ensemble based on a text by Miroslav Bureš
Hora tří světel, H 349 (1954) – (Mountain of Three Lights) cantata for soloists, reciter, male choir and organ for biblical texts
Pět českých madrigalů, H 321 (1948) – (Five Czech Madrigals) cycle of madrigals for mixed choir on folk texts
Mikeš z hor, H 374 (1955) – (Mikeš from the Mountains) chamber cantata for soloists, reciter, choir and instrumental ensemble based on a text by Miroslav Bureš
